A Fail-Proof Secret to Re-Align and Feel Like Yourself Again
The holiday season is upon us, and try as we might, it is super easy to get swept up in the fast-paced frenzy, over-book ourselves, and in no time realize we are completely scattered and out of alignment. And I don’t know about you, but I LOVE this time of year and it is an absolute priority that I be present for it and get to enjoy every last bit of it. Or I will throw a tantrum.
Fortunately, there is one extremely POWERFUL, EASY and FAIL-PROOF way to bring you back when you’ve strayed, to help you re-organize your thoughts & feelings and therefore choices, as well as feel sane and intentional in each of your experiences. And not just for this season, but for the rest of your life (how cool is that?).
Because here is the truth of it, and it is the absolute truth: we live the life we intend when we are in alignment. When we are out of alignment, we live a quite different life, one we’re sure we didn’t intend.
So here it is…GRATITUDE PEOPLE!!!
When diligently practiced, this is the cure-all for every single feeling of dis-ease in your life. The key is to regularly devote time to focus on what you really feel grateful for in the moment, not what you think you should feel grateful for. For example, we should all feel grateful for the roofs over our heads, and it’s not that we don’t, but if you’re really in the deep trenches of negativity or scatter-brainedness (new word) and you’re not connected to the feeling of being grateful for your home, then it isn’t going to do much to shift your energy. Instead, choose something that lights you up to think about, even if it’s as small as being grateful that your favorite pair of sweatpants are still intact after all these years, or for the efficiency of the barista who made your coffee when you were in a hurry this morning.
And do it often! It is part of my daily practice to recognize ten things I am grateful for each and every single day, but it doesn’t stop there. I now naturally and effortlessly acknowledge things throughout the day, all day, and ESPECIALLY when I feel any sort of grumpiness or unease; takes me right out of it! What you are doing in essence is re-aligning your thoughts, which re-align your feelings, which re-aligns your whole perspective, which re-aligns your choices, which re-aligns your experience! And when you get really good at it, it’s downright magical and miraculous, and your life becomes absolutely amazing, no matter what it looks like to someone else.
And voila, you’re you again. The real you.
